Holly Plank

Holly Plank is Miss Maryland USA 2026! A lifelong Marylander, Holly is a television host, professional musician, and nonprofit leader who believes that kindness, connection, and community can change lives. 

Holly has built her career around connecting with people through music and storytelling. Today, she continues that mission as a professional pianist and vocalist while also hosting and producing Hometown Highlights with Holly on NBC’s WBAL-TV 11, a weekly segment celebrating the people, small businesses, nonprofits, and hidden gems that make Maryland such a special place to call home. The segment airs weekends during The TODAY Show and WBAL-TV 11 Weekend Morning News.

Holly is also the co-founder and director of The Plank Foundation, where she works to help nonprofit organizations share their stories, grow their reach, and inspire more people to support their missions. She serves on the Board of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, where she proudly advocates for music education through the OrchKids program, which provides life-changing opportunities to more than 2,000 Baltimore students.  Whether she’s performing on stage, interviewing inspiring Marylanders, or volunteering in her community, Holly believes every person has a story worth telling.

As Miss Maryland USA, she hopes to encourage young women to dream boldly, use their voices with confidence, and create opportunities for others along the way. Her guiding belief is simple: when we lift one another up, we all rise together.

 

FUN FACTS

        • Holly has been a professional pianist and singer for more than 10 years. She has performed in New York, DC, Maryland, Hawaii, Florida, Las Vegas, Texas, and Los Angeles.
        • She hosts Hometown Highlights with Holly, a weekly television segment on WBAL-TV that celebrates communities across Maryland.
        • Holly earned her master’s degree in communications from Johns Hopkins University with a 4.0 GPA.
        • She is a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan, which inspired her Baltimore Oriole state costume for Miss USA.
        • Holly co-founded The Plank Foundation with her husband, helping nonprofit organizations increase their visibility and amplify their missions.
        • Holly has a 5-year-old poodle mix named Lucy, and you can often find them taking walks in Maryland’s Patapsco State Park.
        • Holly’s favorite composer is Chopin, and she loves challenging herself by playing Bach on the piano.
        • Holly’s mother and grandmother are also pianists.
        • Holly loves origami and especially enjoys crafting tiny paper purses.
        • Holly has been married to her husband, Scott, for three years.
        • Holly and her husband are supporters of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the world’s largest performing arts festival. They usually visit – Edinburgh every August and chose to get married there in 2023
        • A lifelong fan of Longaberger baskets, Holly once visited the company’s iconic (now closed) headquarters in Ohio—a building shaped like a giant basket.
